A leisure centre in East Yorkshire is to be refurbished at a cost of £6m.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council also plan to extend the Haltemprice Leisure Centre at Anlaby which attracted 1.1m visitors in 2011/12.

Plans for the centre include creating a GP surgery on site and moving the local library to the centre.

The council said if planning consent was given, work would begin next spring.
