Senior jobs to go at Scarborough council in restructure
Four senior posts at a North Yorkshire council are to go as the authority tries to balance its budget.
Scarborough Borough Council said the restructure was needed after the amount it expects to have to save in 2013/14 rose from £2.5m to £3.2m.
All the existing department heads and strategic directors will go, to be replaced with a new four-strong senior management team.
The council said it will be carrying out a review of other senior posts.
Jim Dillon, Chief Executive of Scarborough Borough Council, said: "While job losses are always regrettable, they are unfortunately unavoidable in the current climate.
"The new structure will reflect the way in which our organisation will operate in the future, allow us to deliver our services efficiently and continue to provide a prosperous future for our community."
A meeting of the full council will be asked to ratify the changes in January.
