Five Humberside Police officers could face criminal charges following the death of a man in custody at Grimsby police station.

David Hill, 57, died on 21 May 2013 after being arrested at his home in New Waltham for criminal damage and affray.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it had passed a report of its investigation to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The CPS will now decide whether there is evidence to bring criminal charges.

The IPCC said it had referred the actions of the two officers who arrested Mr Hill and three custody officers to the CPS.

Humberside Police said the officers had not been suspended during the investigation but had been redeployed into "non public-facing roles".
