Man and woman killed in two car crashes just hours apart

A man and a woman have died in separate crashes less than three hours apart.

A 71-year-old woman, from Scarborough, died after the car she was travelling in was in collision with another car on the B1249, near Langtoft, Driffield, at about 16:30 GMT on Monday.

A 76-year-old man, from Wrawby, was killed in a collision between two cars on Vicarage Road, Wrawby, at about 19:15 on the same day.

Humberside Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The first incident involved a Peugeot 308 and a Kia Sorrento.

A force representative said the driver of the Peugeot, a 75-year-old man from Scarborough, suffered non life-threatening injuries while the driver of the Kia suffered a number of fractures.

In the second crash, the 76-year-old from Wrawby, near Brigg, was driving a Honda Jazz car when it was in collision with a Volkswagen Golf near to the junction with the A18.

The 35-year-old driver of the golf was not injured.
