A woman whose body was found in a hotel room in the centre of Hull prompting a murder inquiry has been named.

The body of Christina Randell, 51, from Hull, was found at the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street, on Sunday afternoon.

Her family is being supported by officers, Humberside Police said.

A 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday remains in custody and is being interviewed. Magistrates granted a warrant to extend custody.

Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances, police said.
