Boy, 13, questioned over Howden cricket pavilion blaze

A 13-year-old boy is being questioned by police on suspicion of setting an East Yorkshire cricket pavilion on fire.

Fire crews were called to the Ashes Playing Field in the centre of Howden at 19:00 BST on Monday.

Ch Insp Kirsty Tock, of Humberside Police, said the boy had come forward following media coverage of the blaze.

Nobody was hurt in the fire in the 1930s building. A police and fire service investigation is ongoing.
