Scunthorpe trio in court over human trafficking offences

Two men and a woman have appeared in court charged with human trafficking offences in Scunthorpe.

Afrida Sangar, 20, Khater Miahkel, 21, and Safiyyah Azhar, 18, were charged with two counts of human trafficking, sex offences and supplying cannabis.

Mr Miahkel is also charged with two counts of false imprisonment and breach of a forced marriage protection order.

Police said the charges came as a result of an investigation into sexual offences in the town.

Mr Sangar, of Mary Street, Mr Miahkel, of Parkinson Avenue, and Ms Azhar, of Berkerley Street appeared at Scunthorpe Magistrates' Court where they were remanded in custody.
