A man who used a stolen forklift truck to rip a cash machine from the wall of a village shop has been jailed for four years.

The ATM, containing £38,000, was stolen from Spar in Church Lane, Thorngumbald, in February and recovered shortly afterwards.

Lewis Holdstock, 22, of Southcoates Lane, Hull, had pleaded guilty to theft earlier at the city's crown court.

It heard the raid caused around £55,000 damage to the shop.
