Pigs were seen on the loose in East Yorkshire after a livestock lorry overturned at a roundabout.

The vehicle overturned on the A1079 at Market Weighton at about 07:00 BST, Humberside Police said.

Traffic reports said some pigs were loose at the scene and drivers had been asked to avoid the area, but the road has now reopened.

The lorry driver was not injured but some of the pigs died in the crash, said police.

The road was closed eastbound as it had been thought that the lorry had been leaking fuel, but it reopened after about four hours.

A second lorry has since taken the pigs from the site.
