Warning over Kent cold call discount medicine claim

Residents are being urged to be vigilant following reports that cold callers have telephoned patients offering them cut-price medication.

NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent said in one incident a person received a call from a firm that claimed to be a medical support service.

It said a meeting was arranged but no-one turned up.

NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent has urged people not deal with firms they are unsure about.

It said genuine firms would not approach patients in this way.

Practice manager Richard Lawson added: "A GP practice would not pass any personal patient data to a third party without getting written consent from the patient."
