Appeal after sex attack on woman in Canterbury

A 29-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Canterbury, Kent, by a man who initially claimed to be concerned about her welfare, police said.

The woman was walking home from a night out and stopped for a rest in Kingsmead Road when the incident took place.

A man approached, asked if she was okay and then sexually assaulted her and took her phone.

He was said to be of Middle Eastern appearance, of medium build, about 5ft 7in tall and aged between 20 and 25.

Kent Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident, which happened in the early hours of Sunday, to contact officers.
