Hundreds of households have had their phone and broadband internet services cut off after thieves stole copper cabling.

Around 650 BT customers have been affected in the village of Lympne near Hythe since Monday.

A spokeswoman for BT said its engineers were working "24/7" on the problem and hope to reconnect homes by Thursday evening.

'We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused," she added.
