Man charged over Gillingham street assault

A 21-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a man was assaulted in a street in Kent.

The victim was found attacked in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, on Saturday morning. He suffered head injuries and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

Ruben White, from Kingswood Road, Gillingham, is due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Three other men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further inquiries.

The 35-year-old victim, who has not yet been named, is in a critical condition.
