Gravesend flat fire treated as arson by Kent crews

A fire that broke out at a block of flats in Gravesend is being treated as arson, firefighters have said.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the first-floor property blaze in Mackenzie Way at 0300 BST.

Fire crews from Strood, Thames-side and Swanscombe fought the fire for up to three hours. Nobody was injured.

A spokesman for the service said: "Half of the flat was destroyed by fire, which is being treated as deliberate at this stage."
