Woman arrested over Tonbridge High Street fatal crash

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a crash in Kent in which a 90-year-old woman died.

The collision in Tonbridge on Thursday involved two cars and three women who were standing near the vehicles.

An elderly woman, who has not yet been named, died at the scene and a woman in her 70s was taken to hospital with injuries. The third woman was unhurt.

Police said the arrested woman was bailed pending further inquiries.

The crash just before 1130 BST happened near the railway station in the High Street, which was closed for about four hours while police investigated.
