Workmen dig up unexploded shell in Broadstairs garden
An unexploded wartime shell discovered by workmen digging a garden in Kent has been deactivated.
Roads were closed and a cordon was put up around the scene in St Peter's Road, Broadstairs, on Monday afternoon.
Bomb disposal experts attended the site and made the shell, which was described as being the size of a vacuum drinks flask, safe.
Roads in the area, close to the town's railway station, were closed for about three hours.
