Driver, 62, killed in crash with lorry in south Kent


A woman has been killed in a road crash between a car and a lorry in Kent.

Kent Police said the 62-year-old from Ashford, who was driving a VW Golf, suffered fatal injuries in the incident on the A259 near Old Romney at about 0600 BST on Monday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was uninjured in the collision.

The road was closed for about six hours following the crash. Officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
