Four arrested over Canterbury nightclub attack


Four people have been arrested after two men were hit over the head with a bottle during a brawl at a nightclub.

Kent Police said the men were attacked during a disturbance at a venue in St George's Place, Canterbury, Kent, at about 0200 BST on Friday.

The victims, thought to be in their 30s, were taken to hospital where their condition was described as stable.

Among the four people arrested was an 18-year-old local man held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A 19-year Canterbury woman was held on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, a 22-year-old London man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and a 23-year-old man from Canterbury was held on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

Kent Police said they expected to make more arrests in connection with the incident.

Officers have asked any witnesses to contact the force.
