A driver of a German articulated lorry suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle left a Kent motorway.
The lorry came off the London-bound carriageway of the M20 near Harrietsham at about 0800 GMT and overturned.
The 57-year-old German driver was trapped in the cab of the lorry and freed by Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
He was taken by Kent Air Ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford, where he later died of his injuries.
The vehicle went over the hard shoulder then down the embankment, ending up on its side in a dip near the underpass.
There were no other people in the lorry and Kent Police believes no other vehicles were involved.
Officers are appealing for witnesses.
