Kent Police target suspect burglars

Eighteen men have been arrested in a series of raids targeting suspected criminals in the run-up to Christmas.

Kent Police said officers had targeted 20 addresses in the Medway area on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The force said it was part of a month-long operation targeting suspected burglars, which has so far resulted in 168 arrests.

Chief Constable Ian Learmonth said burglary was "particularly devastating for victims" during the festive period.

The arrested men, aged between 16 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, drugs offences, and theft from a motor vehicle.
