Woman dies 16 days after Kent crash that killed husband

A woman who was seriously injured in a head-on collision before Christmas that killed her husband has died of her injuries in hospital.

Kent Police said Carole Griffin, 66, died at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford on Monday.

She was a passenger in a Nissan Micra that was involved in a collision with a Suzuki Vitara on the A259 between Lydd and Brenzett on 18 December.

Her husband, Barry Griffin, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people travelling in the Suzuki sustained serious injuries.

Police want to speak to the driver of a silver Ford Focus that may have been driving behind Mr Griffin's car at the time of the accident.
