Herne Bay windfarm extension plan faces public scrutiny

  • Published

People in Kent are being given the opportunity to question Swedish energy giant Vattenfall about its plans to expand the Kentish Flats windfarm.

There are currently 30 turbines off the coast of Herne Bay, with plans for another 17.

As part of the public consultation, information sessions are being held in Herne Bay and Whitstable this week.

Vattenfall confirmed its extension plans for the windfarm, which was built five years ago, last October.

Goran Loman, the company's project manager, said the sessions would give people the chance to quiz project specialists about all parts of the proposal.
