Apologies for school offer e-mail errors in Kent

Kent County Council has apologised to parents who signed up to find out which secondary schools their children will attend next autumn by e-mail.

The local authority said about 10% of parents received an e-mail which did not contain the name of the school.

A spokesman said: "An e-mail containing all the details is now being sent to parents who received this message.

"This will not affect the school places offered and we apologise for any inconvenience."

In Medway, the council said it had been hit by computer problems which led to many parents not receiving e-mails about secondary school places.

A spokesman apologised for the delay and advised concerned parents to visit the council's website.
