Dredging work to remove large amounts of sand from Ramsgate Harbour Marina is being carried out.

Thanet District Council said the work focused on the western outer marina, commercial jetty, the breakwater and the East Pier.

Harbourmaster Robert Brown said: "The winter weather has brought in large volumes of sand and this is in the process of being removed."

The council said the work was funded with a grant from the European Union.
