French police release Kent youth football team

French police have released without charge four Kent teenagers who were questioned about an alleged sexual assault on a cross-channel ferry.

They were among 11 boys from a youth football team in Ashford who were accused by a group of French girls on the ferry of sexually harassing them.

Seven of the boys were released, while the remaining four were held in custody in the Calais region.

The group, aged 13 to 18, were offered Foreign Office consular assistance.
