New John Lewis store in Ashford to create 160 jobs

Retailer John Lewis is to open a new home furnishings store in Kent creating 160 jobs, it has been announced.

The firm said it would spend £7m on the shop, near the M20 at Ashford, which is set to open in autumn 2012.

The development will include a cafe and about 200 parking places.

John Lewis managing director Andy Street said: "Our plans to open in Ashford will also help realise our ambition to have more than 10 at home shops by the end of 2012."
