Man charged and 10 bailed over Medway disturbances

An 18-year-old man has been charged with an arson attack on a bin and 10 people have been bailed following last week's disturbances in Kent.

They were arrested by Kent Police after fires and vandalism in Gillingham, Chatham and Rainham between 20:20 BST on 8 August and 05:00 on 9 August.

In appeal for information, officers said they wanted to speak to anyone who witnessed disorder or damage.

Det Insp Gavin Moss said even if what they saw seemed "small or unimportant".

In particular, police would like to hear from people who were in the High Street and Saxton Street, in Gillingham, at the Wickes car park in Maidstone Road, Chatham or at the Tesco multi-storey car park in Eldon Street, Chatham.

They would also like to hear from residents with information living in Westmount Avenue, Pagitt Street, Holcombe Road and Railways Street in Chatham, where a number of offences were committed.
