Woman arrested after Gravesend assault

A 24-year-old woman from the Gravesend area has been arrested after a woman in her 30s was assaulted in the town.

Kent Police were called after the woman was attacked in New Road on Sunday at about 03:15 BST.

The victim had been repeatedly punched and kicked and suffered a broken ankle, and cuts and bruises to her face during the attack.

The woman, who was arrested after police released CCTV images, has been bailed until 28 November.
