A baby boy who was admitted to hospital after being seriously injured in Kent is being looked after by foster carers.

The one-month-old child from Gravesend was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford on 1 December before being transferred to a hospital in London.

Kent Police said the child was released from hospital on 3 January and had recently been placed in foster care.

A 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assault in Gravesend remain on bail.

Two vigils were held in the town for the baby, and toys, candles and cards were left in support.
