Teenage pedestrian hit by car in Maidstone dies

A teenage boy struck by a car as he crossed a one-way street in Kent has died of his injuries, police have said.

The 17-year-old boy was hit by a black Hyundai in Calder Road, Maidstone, at about 18:00 GMT on Friday.

Police said the teenager, who was from the Maidstone area, was taken to the Royal London Hospital where he died on Saturday evening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene, but was not injured. Officers are appealing for witnesses.
