Two men had to be rescued by lifeboat crews after their craft's engine caught fire in the Thames Estuary.

The RNLI at Sheerness received a distress call from the 24ft (7m) motorboat The Bends at about 15:10 BST on Good Friday.

One man, who had burns to his arm, and another male, who was suffering from shock, were transferred to the lifeboat and given treatment.

The men and their vessel were then taken to the Isle of Sheppey, Kent.
