A man who drowned after getting into difficulty in the sea off the Kent coast has been named by police.

Rabbi Chaim Breisch, 59, of Hackney, east London, and another man were rescued from the water near West Cliff Road, Broadstairs, on Monday.

He was flown by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (QEQM) hospital in Margate but later died.

The second man was also treated in hospital but later released. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
