Sussex Police officer injured in Bognor 999 call crash

A police officer was hurt when a marked car that was responding to an emergency call collided with another vehicle and then crashed into a wall.

The 37-year-old female officer suffered a broken arm and dislocated shoulder during the incident in Nyewood Lane, Bognor, at 21:00 BST on Wednesday.

Sussex Police said the car, which had its blue lights and sirens on, collided with a VW Golf in Nyewood Lane.

The officer was taken to St Richards Hospital in Chichester.

The 24-year-old officer who was driving the police vehicle received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Golf, a 53-year-old woman from Bognor, was treated at the scene for shock. Her passengers were unhurt.
