Man arrested after cyclist killed in Boughton

A 50-year-old man has been arrested after a cyclist was killed in Kent.

The 29-year-old man was on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 in Boughton at about 19:45 BST on Friday when he was hit by a Vauxhall Meriva.

He died at the scene and the carriageway was closed until the early hours of Saturday between Brenley and the Canterbury junctions.

The 50-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
