Fire at old Rivendell Hospital site in Eastry tackled
About 40 firefighters have tackled a fire that has destroyed the roof of a former hospital in Kent.
Emergency teams were called to the former Rivendell Hospital in Eastry just after 03:00 BST.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the roof of the two-storey derelict building had been completely destroyed.
A spokesman said the ground and first floors were severely damaged by fire and water. There were no reported injuries.
Six fire engines, one height vehicle and a command support unit were at the incident where the fire was mainly in the roof space.
