Images of three suspects in an armed robbery who stole £50,000 from a van delivering cash have been released by Kent police.

Police were called to a petrol station in Cuxton Road, Rochester, just after 11:50 BST on Wednesday.

No shots were fired during the robbery and no-one was injured.

Detectives have seized a silver Volkswagen Golf, believed to have been used by the suspects before the offence took place.

The car had been stolen from the London area and had false numberplates, with the registration DG09 NLL being used.

Witnesses initially reported two men, wearing balaclavas with dark tracksuit bottoms and hooded tops, leaving the area.

Police now want to trace a third man who may have been acting as a lookout on Cuxton Road.

Det Ch Insp Trevor Lawry said: "This was a carefully planned crime and we are now beginning to build a picture of the suspect's movements before and after the robbery was carried out.

"It is estimated over £50,000 was stolen during the robbery and we are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us arrest those responsible for this crime."
