Kent Police warning over catalytic converter thefts

  • Published

Van drivers have been warned about a spate of catalytic converter thefts across Kent.

Since 1 January, thieves have stolen catalytic converters from 10 Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans.

Police said they are taken due to the high value of precious metals that catalytic converters contain. They are then sold to scrap dealers or exported.

The vans were targeted in Medway, Sittingbourne, Tonbridge, Maidstone, Ashford and Ramsgate.
