Skeleton in Canterbury wood 'may be missing elderly man'

Human remains found in a wood at Sturry, near Canterbury, are believed to be those of an elderly man, Kent Police have said.

Parts of a skeleton were found in Kemberland Wood by a member of the public earlier this month.

A police spokeswoman said the bones could be those of a missing person dating back to the late 1990s.

She said a post-mortem examination had not established a cause of death.

Police said they were continuing with their inquiries and further tests on the remains would be carried out.
