Second Maidstone man charged over hammer attack

A second man has been charged with the attempted murder of a man who received serious head injuries in a hammer attack in Kent.

The 35-year-old victim was treated in hospital following the assault in Boxley Road, Maidstone early on 15 June.

Kent Police said he was continuing to recover from his injuries.

A 26-year-old local man appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder on Wednesday.

A 29-year-old man from Maidstone was remanded in custody after being charged with the same offence earlier in the month.
