A man who poses a "significant threat" to the public is wanted for recall to prison after breaching the conditions of his licence.

Kent Police warned people not to approach Craig Brown, 37, who they said was dangerous and could be armed.

Officers believe Brown, who was released from prison in 2011, might be staying with his girlfriend who is also wanted by the force.

He has connections with the Faversham, Sheerness and Dover areas of Kent.

The police spokesman said Brown, who a history of convictions for violence, failed to comply with the conditions of his life licence.

Brown is described as 5ft 11in tall, and of medium build.

His girlfriend is 32 and has a tattoo of a swallow on her shoulder, police said.
