Canterbury woman accused of attempted murder after fire

A woman has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after a fire at a house in Canterbury.

Pearl Ivy Thomas, of Keats Corner, is also accused of arson with intent to endanger life following the blaze on Friday, Kent Police said.

Ms Thomas, 37, and three children were treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns in hospital and later released.

The children, one girl and two boys who are all aged under three, are being cared for by relatives, officers said.

Ms Thomas is due to appear before Dover magistrates on Monday.
