Gillingham suspect released after hurt woman dies

A 44-year-old woman has been released without charge after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman who later died.

Officers were called to Balmoral Road, Gillingham, Kent, on Saturday after a woman was found injured in the street.

She was taken to hospital where she died. Kent Police said her death was being treated as "unexplained".

The force said a 44-year-old Gillingham woman was detained shortly after the incident but released.

Investigations into the death are continuing, Kent Police said.
