Pedestrian killed in Deal crash

A pedestrian died when she was struck by a car as she walked along a rural road in Kent.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A258 Dover Road in Deal.

Police said she had been walking towards Dover and was hit by a Vauxhall Astra at about 08:40 GMT on Saturday.

No-one has been arrested, and officers have urged any motorists who might have seen the crash near the junction with Ripple Road to contact them.
