A post-mortem examination on a mother found dead at a flat in Gillingham has failed to establish the cause of her death, Kent Police have said.

The bodies of the woman and a child, who police believe was her daughter, were found at the flat in Trafalgar Street on Monday.

Police said further tests on the woman were needed but the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem test on the child is scheduled for Friday.

Officers said their family had been found and relatives were helping police to identify the pair formally.

Police have said the investigation is "particularly sensitive".

It is believed the flat was let to people with support needs.
