Murder charge after body discovered in Margate

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in a Margate home.

Edvardas Barscevicius, 38, was found dead in Ethelbert Terrace on Monday.

Aurimas Vilius, 24, of Ethelbert Terrace, is also charged with assault on another man in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody. He next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 10 July.

It is believed both victims and the suspect were known to one another.

A 41-year-old man from Margate has also been arrested and remains in police custody.

A 35-year-old man previously arrested in connection with the incident has been released pending further inquiries.

Another man, aged 54, was released without charge.
