Arrest after fatal van collision in Lancashire

A man has been arrested after a 45-year-old was knocked over and killed by a van in Lancashire.

He was struck by a white Citreon van and became trapped underneath near the Riversway docks in Preston at 1240 BST on Tuesday.

Despite being rescued by the fire service he died on arrival at Royal Preston Hospital.

A 35-year-old from Colwyn Bay was detained on suspicion of death by careless driving and has been bailed.
