Man rescued after 10ft hole fall in Lancashire


A man is in hospital after he fell down a 10ft (3m) deep sewer in Lancashire.

Firefighters were called to rescue the 32-year-old from the man hole in Brook Street in Nelson at about 0800 BST.

He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with leg and back injuries.

Crews and a rope rescue team worked together to bring him to safety. Police closed parts of Netherfield Road and Sagar Street while the rescue took place.
