M6 closed in Lancashire as air ambulance lands

Part of the M6 motorway had to be closed in Lancashire after a car veered off the carriageway.

Police said the vehicle came off the road on the northbound carriageway near junction 29 at Lostock Hall, which is the junction with the M65.

Traffic was brought to a halt in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land on Saturday morning.

The road re-opened shortly afterwards, a spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said.
