Biker killed in Kirkham crash is identified


A biker who was killed in a collision with a car in Lancashire has been named by police.

Robert Lowe, 34, from Blackpool, was riding on Blackpool Road in Westby, near Kirkham, on Sunday evening, when he crashed with a black Ford Focus.

Mr Lowe died at the scene but the driver and passenger of the car were unhurt.

Lancashire Police are appealing to witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 1750 BST, to contact them.

Sgt Steve Hardman, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to come forward.

"We are particularly keen to speak to the drivers of two cars who were in the area at the time of the collision and who we believe may have witnessed it.

"A full investigation is now under way in relation to this incident and I would urge witnesses to come forward as soon as possible."
