M6 reopens in Lancashire after four-hour closure

Part of the M6 in Lancashire which was closed for four hours, causing major traffic disruption, has reopened.

Lancashire Police closed the motorway near Salmesbury at about 1115 BST after reports a man was threatening to jump from a motorway bridge.

Traffic was queuing both ways between junction 31a at Longridge and junction 32 at the M55 Broughton Interchange.

Police said the man came down at about 1520 BST and the motorway reopened, easing traffic problems.
